Today on Day 3, I rode from Dubois, WY, to Jeffrey City, WY, with Strava recording 130.76 miles.
The weather varied from sunny and hot to a mild rain (which was quite refreshing) to overcast and quite comfortable.
My wife, Rebecca, and I made some new friends today. Timothy and Rebekah, a brother and sister cycling team from Chicago, are riding the entire length of the TransAmerica Bicycle trail this summer with no support vehicle! My wife and I had said “hello” to them the last few days along the route, but today they stopped by the RV and visited us and we had a great discussion over some Ben and Jerry’s ice cream.
I talked to another guy named Joel, who is riding the same trail with his wife, from east to west, raising money for Type I Diabetes. They left Virginia in May and have about another month to finish in Astoria, OR.
I also stopped in Lander and got a much-needed haircut, requesting a buzz-cut in honor of Petra Wright and Lincoln Flory (children of some close friends) who both recently started chemotherapy treatment.
Tomorrow should be a shorter mileage day, and we plan to boondock the RV tomorrow evening at a Shell station parking lot, unless my SAG driver, Rebecca, can find anything better nearby. 😊
Thankfully,
Michael and Rebecca
