Problem:
Over 2.2 billion people worldwide lack access to safe and dependable water. That means 1 in 3 people struggle to find clean water every day. In developing countries, women and children spend countless hours a day fetching often-contaminated water for their families. This situation leaves millions of people vulnerable to disease, suffering, and a never-ending cycle of poverty. While some organizations and governments are working toward providing safe water to rural communities, traditional hand pumps can’t reach deep enough and often break under the strain. Many traditional hand pumps only last 6 months before suddenly breaking down, leaving communities without water and perpetuating the cycle of poverty.
