Three Days Down, Three to Go!
Michael Cook officially reached the halfway point on his journey along the Ohio to Erie Trail. DO’s Engineering Solutions Director is biking 326 miles to raise money to rehabilitate four hand pumps that will bring safe water and the gospel to approximately 1,000 people in Malawi.
Yesterday, he was joined by Matt Hammond, whose wife, Susan, is DO’s Stewardship Annual Fund Officer, and DO Controller Bryan Clay. The three rode from Westerville to Danville together, where Michael camped for the night.
Today, he’s back on the trail with 50 pounds of gear on his bike—a reminder of the heavy buckets of water women and children in Malawi carry every day.
With more than 200 miles already completed, we have no doubt Michael will make it to Lake Erie. But reaching his financial goal is something he can’t do alone. To support Michael’s incredible mission, visit here.
