DO Announces New Partnership to Strengthen Gospel Outreach

For years, DO has partnered with communities to bring safe, reliable water and the hope of the Gospel where both are urgently needed. Today, we’re excited to announce a new partnership with World Hope Ministries International (WHMI) that will strengthen our efforts to share the Gospel with the communities we serve.

Through this partnership, DO will help bring the WHMI Bible Institute to the communities we serve in Malawi. The aim of this three-year training program is to equip local pastors and ministry leaders with solid biblical theology who, in turn, can teach and train others. The program is delivered in hundreds of locations across the globe in person, free of charge, and open to pastors of all skill levels.

With sound biblical training, pastors will be better equipped to faithfully shepherd their congregations. Healthy churches have the opportunity to transform communities from the inside out, and we’re grateful for the chance to further support the communities we are privileged to serve.

The need for training is significant. Around the world, an estimated 85% of pastors lack adequate theological training, and in many rural areas of Malawi, access to Bibles and biblical teaching remains limited. The WHMI Bible Institute brings practical, in-person theological education directly to pastors and ministry leaders, equipping them to serve their churches while remaining in their own communities.

The partnership will launch alongside DO’s MaxLife™ Centralizer Bridging Initiative—our effort to scale the MaxLife Centralizer across Malawi one district at time—creating new opportunities to connect with communities already benefiting from improved access to safe water. Together, these efforts reflect DO’s commitment to caring for the whole person and partnering with communities as they grow stronger for generations to come.

DO and WHMI will advertise the new Bible Institute locations during MaxLife Centralizer distribution and installation, training sessions, meetings, and other program-related activities. Our team will also reach out to local churches to inform interested ministry leaders of the creation of the Bible Institute in their area.

WHMI’s ultimate goal is for each graduating class is to recruit and empower graduates to open new locations of the Bible Institute, creating a sustainable and repeatable pathway for people to be taught biblical theology.

The WHMI Bible Institute delivers 16 courses of essential, systematic theological instruction rooted in the multiplication model of 2 Timothy 2:2: Those who are trained go on to train others, who train others still. This indigenous, replicating approach creates a self-sustaining movement of theological competency that grows from within the communities it serves.

We’re grateful for the opportunity to support the pastors and churches already serving their communities every day. We believe God will use this partnership to bring lasting transformation for years to come.
