MaxLife™ Centralizer Receives Government Approval
We are thrilled to share with you historic news from Malawi. Design Outreach has received official government approval to install MaxLife™ Centralizers nationwide across Malawi.This authorization was confirmed in a formal letter from the Principal Secretary for Water Development, marking a decisive milestone not only for the MaxLife Program, but for sustainable water access across the country.
In the letter, government officials acknowledged the “positive results” of the year-long pilot program and that “100% of the monitored boreholes reported that they have never been broken down” since the installation of the MaxLife Centralizer. The letter goes on to say, “Having reached this far, it is therefore authorized that the blue floating centralizers be acceptable for installation in Malawi and appropriate supply chain be established for the parts, with appropriate Community Based Management training.”
This approval moves MaxLife from a closely monitored pilot into a government-endorsed, nationally accepted solution. It affirms the reliability of the technology, validates years of engineering and fieldwork, and opens the door to scaling impact across thousands of communities. With this decision, Malawi has taken a groundbreaking step forward in long-term water system reliability and local supply chain development.
