Giving Tuesday 2025
Giving Tuesday 2025: Celebrating All Those Who Share Our Mission to Alleviate Poverty & Build God’s Kingdom
Recently, Co-founders Greg Bixler and Abe Wright were inspired by the book Rooting for Rivals: How Collaboration and Generosity Increase the Impact of Leaders, Charities, and Churches. In the book, authors Peter Greer and Chris Horst emphasize the importance of collaboration, rather than competition, amongst Christian nonprofits to maximize Kingdom impact. The main theme is that Christ-centered nonprofits have a unique opportunity to link arms and collectively pursue a calling higher than any one organization’s agenda.
This Giving Tuesday, December 2, we want to celebrate the fact that we are not alone in our mission to alleviate global poverty and build God’s Kingdom. What a joy it is to be part of the body of Christ, working side by side to share the love of Jesus with people around the world! On this day of radical generosity, let’s celebrate together the many like-minded organizations committed to fulfilling the Great Commission and being the hands and feet of Jesus.
Two of these incredible organizations are World Hope Ministries International, which focuses on training spiritual leaders, and AsOne, dedicated to empowering Ugandans to cultivate transformation in their rural communities.
World Hope Ministries International
Globally, 85% of pastors lack theological training, a global crisis that often leads to false teaching and lack of discipleship from shepherds who are ill-equipped to lead believers into understanding and living according to the Word of God. But WHMI is working to change that. Through their Bible Institute, WHMI is empowering thousands of pastors and church leaders in more than 50 countries with essential theological training, using a New Testament model found in 2 Timothy 2:2 to give leaders the tools they need to shepherd God’s people, train other leaders, and lead their congregations into abundant life in Christ.
AsOne Ministries
AsOne Ministries is creating a movement of Ugandans empowering Ugandans. Their mission is to make disciples of Jesus and create sustainable solutions in education, enterprise, health, and agriculture that holistically address poverty in rural, underserved communities. Many well-intentioned organizations tackle poverty through one-way crisis relief models, relying on charity methods like handouts, giveaways, and feeding programs. While these provide direct aid, they fail to address the broader, systemic challenges many in Uganda face. Instead of solving the root causes, such efforts often create a cycle of dependency that undermines people’s dignity. AsOne is committed to breaking that cycle by building a model that has financial viability for long-term change and empowers Ugandans as the leaders of the future.
We are encouraged by these organizations’ commitment to serving vulnerable communities in ways that foster long-term transformation and offer the eternal hope that only Jesus can provide. This Giving Tuesday, we hope you are inspired by the many ways the body of Christ is fulfilling the Great Commission around the world, and we pray God blesses these ministries as we all continue to fulfill the callings God has placed on each of our lives.
