It’s Race Day!
The @Monumental Marathon in Indianapolis kicks off this morning, and @Michael Poorman and his team will be running 26.2 miles and pouring their sweat and tears (hopefully no blood!) into providing clean water through LifePump for the community of Musende, Zambia. They have worked hard to train and inspire others to join their cause for months, and all the hard work will pay off today. It’s not too late to support their race and campaign. “Something I’m going to do anyway is run. So why not run for a purpose? My faith in Jesus compels me to show love to other people and to extend his love and grace. … We do this both by providing for practical needs and the Gospel of Jesus to people as much as possible. Which is one of the reasons I love DO: It’s not just about clean water. It’s about clean water AND Jesus. We get to partner with an amazing organization that’s doing that and be a part of bringing the practical needs of water and the love of Jesus to a village, which is incredible. I love that when a pump gets put in, the village gets Bibles, and that’s an amazing thing. We’re grateful to be able to partner in that and be just a small part of bringing that to a reality.” – Michael Poorman
