13.1 Miles in a Donut Costume
Pastor @Michael Poorman of Mission Point Community Church will do anything to help the people of Zambia get clean water—he’ll even run 13.1 miles in a donut costume! For the past several months, he and a few buddies have been training for the @Monumental Marathon in Indianapolis for the purpose of raising funds to provide the community of Musende, Zambia, with a LifePump. Currently, this 35 families in this community walks past a broken hand pump every day and make a long trek to a riverbank where they dig holes and wait for water to seep up from the ground. This water is contaminated and makes them sick, but it’s all they have.
