Hugo and Bre van der Walt are counting down the days to their upcoming move to Malawi in July, where Hugo will work on location as the Malawi Field Engineering Director. Recently, they were excited to share with their friends and family some of the tastes and sounds that will soon become part of their daily experience by hosting several Life in Malawi events.

A highlight for Bre was the Chichewa (a local language of Malawi) Bingo Game that she and Hugo played with their guests. “My favorite part of the event was getting to share that God is moving, not only here, but all the way across the world,” Bre said. “It’s a reminder of how big He is. I also really love learning about another culture with people we care about.”

Through these fun and engaging events, you too can experience unique Malawian cuisine, music and culture, while at the same time learning about the water crisis and how the DO field office is working to address it—all without having to experience the 24 hours of travel it takes to get there.
