On World Water Day, March 22, 2021, Chemical Abstracts Service (CAS) held a Town Hall meeting with over 300 people from around the globe. The event was both a recap of last year’s successful, employee-driven fundraising campaign and the renewal of their support for providing safe, reliable water to the people of Malawi. This year, CAS employees have committed to raise funds for another community to receive a LifePump, as well as COVID-19 prevention training and supplies.

During the event, Dr. Beatrice Chisenga, DO’s Africa Field Director, and CEO Dr. Greg Bixler shared the profound impact clean water can have on communities, specifically the two that received the LifePumps funded by CAS last year. Beatrice, who attended virtually from Malawi, shared her powerful story and experiences as a girl growing up carrying water in rural Malawi.
