This month, Design Outreach welcomed Rhonda Davis-Comoretto to the team! Rhonda brings over twenty years of experience working with some of the most respected nonprofits at the local, state, national and international level, from COSI to the American Red Cross. We’ve loved getting to know her, and we’d love for you to get to know her as well.

Q: What brought you to DO?

A: In my professional career, I’ve always sought to build partnerships with individuals and organizations that make a lasting impact in the world. Helping to develop strategy, raise funds, and facilitate programs is what gives me purpose in this life. When I learned about the opportunity at Design Outreach, it just made sense. I had to join the team.

Q: What other experience do you have in this field.

A: How much time do you have? Ha! I have two decades of experience in the nonprofit world–from strategic planning to development and partnerships. I’ve worked with wonderful organizations like the Children’s Hunger Alliance, COSI, and the American Red Cross. Each one of these opportunities provided me a platform to help improve the lives of children and family. It has been extremely rewarding work. I’m very grateful.

Q: Where are you from? Married? Have kids?

A: Columbus! I’m a Buckeye. I am married with three children and two grandchildren (with one on the way). I have three dogs as well.

Q: Why are you excited to work with DO?

A: Clean water is an essential resource for all human beings. I can’t imagine a more important way to spend my day than by sharing the heart and mission of this organization. DO is meeting the physical and spiritual needs of individuals around the world. Each of us on the team have such unique and extensive skills–I’m so excited to see what we can accomplish together for the greater good.

Q: What responsibilities will your job include? And how many hours per week?

A: As Chief Stewardship Officer, I will be developing and executing strategies to advance DO’s vision by fostering fundraising growth, from conducting major gifting programs and capital campaigns to increasing awareness and communication of DO’s past, present, and future scope and project plans.

Q: What do you like to do for fun?

A: I enjoy connecting. Spending time with family, playing with my grandchildren, worshipping with my church family, hanging out with our three dogs. I also love meeting new people. At the end of the day, making the world better can be as simple as starting a conversation.
